Hydroponics and
artificial lighting is a big part of indoor growing in the UK due to

grow plants all year around from the comfort of their own homes. To start your
horticultural adventure with the use of grow lamps you need a ballast
(power source) a reflector (bulb housing) and a bulb. We sell these
items individually or in the form of a 'full grow lamp setup'. There are
three different power levels depending on how much light you want to
produce and there are various different qualities of reflectors
depending on your budget. The Maxibright growing set-ups all come with
an HPS bulb

ballast grow lamp set-up with maxibright basic shade and bulb
We stock a wide
range of different light reflectors of varying quality. The standard
grow lamp set-up comes with the maxibright basic shade but if you are
looking for better light intensity you may want to invest in a slightly
better quality reflector. The ecotechnics diamond reflectors for example
produce an average light intensity of up to 50% more than the cheaper
designs. We are also able to offer the 3 different power output ballasts
as separate items.
The Eco-light /
envirolite is a low
energy use, high output, grow light.
These lights are much cooler
when operating than HID lamps and are incredibly economical. Whilst not as
bright as a ballast based grow light, the Eco-light is ideal to use:
- as a supplement to grow
lights to maximise production without increasing heat build up or running
costs.
- close to plants as little heat is given off.
- in small growing environments, such as cupboards or closets where heat and
height restrictions may be a problem.
- to grow a very small number of plants or seedlings, cuttings, etc.
These bulbs are self
ballasted so you only need a bulb and reflector or a bulb and a ceramic lamp
